Picotto was one of the comic artists who published his work in the French magazines Pilote and Charlie during the 1970s and early 1980s. Picotto often worked together with Philippe Druillet and Tardi. Some of the titles he created are 'Firaz at la Ville Fleur', 'Cirque Arté Zimboldo', 'Une Histoire de Tous les Jours' and 'Comme dans une Rêve'.
