Mota is a science fiction fanzine by Terry Hughes (d. November 14, 2001).

Mota was published in Columbia, Missouri, U.S.A. in the 1970s, beginning in 1971 and ending, after 31 issues, in May 1980.

Greg Pickersgill, in Stop Breaking Down #1, writes; «This is a real departure for me; never before have I reviewed an America fanzine, and truthfully I don't knw whether I'm actually doing so now as MOTA is so good I wish it was British...In fact it's the fannish fanzine par excellance...»

Contributors of art work included Jim Barker, Harry Bell (Grimwab), Grant Canfield (cover #7), Ross Chamberlain (Fangle), Ken Fletcher, Tom Foster (cover #4), Rob Hansen (Epsilon), Craig Hughes (cover #1), John Ingham, Jay Kinney (Nope!), Bill Kunkel (Rats!, Four Star Extra), Doug Lovenstein (cover #3), Joe Pearson, Bill Rotsler, Joe Staton, Dan Steffan (Boonfark), Steve Stiles (cover #5), Arthur Thomson (The ATom Anthology), and Reed Waller.

Terry Hughes was also one of the editors of Science Fiction Five Yearly, and went on to co-publish Fuck The Tories in the 1980s.
